What’s new

Recent changes to recipes.im, newest first.

  • Edit details, redesigned

Tap ⋯ on any recipe → Edit details. Cuisine, course, and tags each open a focused picker with search, recently used at the top, and a free-text Add row — so a Sichuan recipe can be Sichuan instead of the closest fit.

  • Snappier app

Opening a recipe is about 40% faster on average. The Groceries list stays smooth while the parser is rebuilding in the background.

  • Sign in with the SMS autofill chip

Six boxes over a hidden input. Tap the iOS autofill suggestion and the code drops in and submits — no copy-paste fiddling.

  • Sign out, not “Leave household”

The household row in Settings now says what it actually does. Your recipes stay synced; you can sign back in with the same email anytime.

  • Swipe to delete in groceries

On the Aisle tab, swipe a row left to reveal Delete. Custom items are removed outright; recipe items are hidden from the list but stay on their recipe.

  • Smoother grocery scrolling

Toggling checkboxes stays smooth even on long lists with a lot of ingredients still being categorized.

May 6–8, 2026

  • Find recipes from the web

When your library doesn't have what you're searching for, a grid of real recipes from across the web shows up — in the Recipes tab and in Search. Tap to save one into your library with the original photo and source.

  • Recipe sources

Cards and the recipe detail page now show where each recipe came from, with a small favicon and domain. Tap to read the original.

  • Better YouTube imports

Recipes from longer YouTube videos (up to ~5 minutes) now extract cleanly, and we use a higher-quality video stream so ingredients are recognized more reliably.

  • Live timers on the Lock Screen

Cooking timers now appear on the iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Pause or stop them without unlocking.

  • Equipment tab

Step timers and the cookware list are merged into a single Equipment tab in recipe detail.

  • App icon badge for groceries

A small red dot on the app icon shows when items are waiting in your grocery list.

  • Swipe between tabs

Swipe horizontally on recipe detail and groceries to move between sections.

  • Faster cold start

Reworked the data layer so the app opens with less lag, even on a cold start.

  • Devices stay in sync without a manual refresh

Edits made on one device show up on others within seconds, even when the other app's been sitting idle in the foreground.
